One of 2 albums of vintage material of mine (originally released in 2005), this compilation of songs was from back in the days when I was a "girl with a guitar", drawing much on Nick Drake and on the wilds of Somerset, where I grew up.
Many people prefer this earlier music of mine - I agree that it's got a naturalness and appeal of its own (from before I moved to London, and "lost innocence", somewhat).
Btw - look out for themes which I later went on to rework as "myself" and as "Queen Christina" - notably "Aviator", "Broken Ring" and "Tyrant" (later, used as the theme for a Latin Mass - "Mass Consciousness").
Oh, and who could ignore the marvellous Dolly Parton-esque rip-roaring track "Lay It All Down" - available as a single, if you feel so inclined!
